Two bands of shirring do all the work. The first runs across the upper chest and holds the blouse off both shoulders, edged with a narrow self-fabric frill and finished with a drawstring tie left long at the centre front. The second sits at the natural waist and gathers the chiffon in before it releases into a soft flare. Between them the body is full and unstructured. The bishop sleeves are cut wide and fall to a shirred cuff with a matching frill at the wrist.
